Paperless Tickets Fruitless For Miley Cyrus

Blame the demise of Myley Cyrus’ paperless ticket efforts on the logistics of having to present both the credit card and ID used to make the purchase at a predominantly teen & tween event (forcing moms across the country to leave the comfort of their Dodge Caravans).
Blame the teens and tweens!
Cyrus’ core-constituency came out, en-masse, to put a stop to the loss of control that such a proposition would have produced. Fans continue to purchase her music - as evidenced by her [seemingly] permanent residence on the Billboard charts.
So what changed?
Remember Miley’s 2007 “Best of Both Worlds” tour, in which she performed as herself AND her Disney alter-ego, Hannah Montana? The tour that sold-out nationwide, in less than fifteen minutes. Also the tour that left many Hannah Montana fans and their parents disgruntled at the fact that ticket scalpers had bought and raised the prices of tour tickets to ridiculous levels. (But who wants to upset a tween/teen at that crucial time of the year when the entire school year is still ahead of them?)
So in an effort to pacify parents of her brand’s fans, Miley alienated the tweens and teens whose influence on their parents and their willingness to pay a high price for contentment, led to the scalper mess in the first place.
Besides, who wants to be seen at a Miley Cyrus concert with mom and dad?
